The OpenMAPI team has put together a virtual machine (VirtualBox, tested with v3.0.4) designed to enable developers to
easily start programming and testing implementations based on OpenMAPI.org.

It contains a setup of the following components:
- OpenMAPI.org NMAPI server (=gateway, IMAP server, backend connect, MAPI Shell)
- VIPcom Conversations backend
- Thunderbird E-Mail client
- Mono runtime environment
- Monodevelop IDE

The Thunderbird e-mail client connects to the VIPcom Conversations backend using the IMAP gateway of the OpenMAPI.org
NMapi gateway server.
