Hi all,
I ran into Thomas Uhl online today, and after we'd chatted about
OpenMapi he suggested I join the list to get more involved with the
discussions. I'm the founder of a company called Mailana that's working on
data analysis tools for large email stores. I've been using OpenChange for
its MAPI/RPC support to pull the data off Exchange servers and into an XML
format. Thomas thought it worth reposting the format here for discussion:

I _don't_ think it's suitable as a serialization form for MAPI objects,
since it discards a lot of information that's unnecessary for data analysis
(like most transport headers), but it's served well as a way of passing
messages around the system.
I'd like to use OpenMapi's position as a middle-man in the mail transactions
to be able to gather data too.
If you're interested in the end results of my analysis, here's an example
using public Twitter data:

I'm very aware of the privacy problems if this sort of tool is abused, I'm
working hard to make sure there's safeguards to protect people's
information.
cheers,
Pete
