The OpenMapi.org Java library (still unreleased) can be used to build Android apps that directly connect to the OpenMapi.org Proxy server and, from there, to any NMapi supported backend or MAPI provider. The screenshot shows a little example app (that really just prints the directory structure of the MAPI store it is connected to to the screen) running in the Android emulator.
